Our Executive Board

Jessie Kang
Co-Founder/Executive Director
Hello! I’m Jessie and I Co-Founded Letters to My Heritage to help other immigrant students who may have the same struggles as I do. I moved to Seattle, Washington from Shanghai, China when I was 8 years old and LTMH has helped me find such an awesome community. “We tell stories in order to live” (Tim O’Brien); I hope to listen and help other immigrant youth tell their own stories.

Amruta Rashinkar
Co-Director of Marketing
Hi! I’m Amruta, and I’m the Co-Director of Marketing at Letters to My Heritage. As a second generation immigrant, I’ve always valued the role that my Indian heritage plays in shaping my cultural identity. I joined LTMH because I wanted to create a space where students can share their stories and feel represented. I’m excited to help amplify those voices through our website and social media this year!

Jazmin Rivera
Co-Director of Marketing
Hey! My name is Jazmin Rivera, and I’m a junior in high school and the Co-Marketing Director for Letters to my Heritage, where I manage our social media. I’m passionate about helping students from immigrant backgrounds find the resources and support they need for college. Growing up, I’ve seen how challenging it can be to navigate this process, and I want to make a difference. Through this work, I hope to honor my roots and inspire others to embrace their heritage while reaching their academic goals.

Laasya Bogadi
Director of Operations
Hey! I’m Laasya and I’m the Director of Operations at Letters to My Heritage. Being apart of LTMH, I hope to be able to make college advice accessible to my community as many immigrants don’t have parents who went through the college admissions process. I hope to create a space where all students feel supported, seen, and prepared for the future.

Dilara Yilmaz
Director of Public Relations
Hi! My name is Dilara and I’m a sophomore at Lakeside High School. I’m the daughter of Turkish immigrants, which is a big part of why I joined Letter to My Heritage. As Director of Public Relations, I help share our message and connect with more students and community members. In my free time, I love listening to music, playing sports, and hanging out with friends.

Divya Karthikeyan
Director of Finance
Hello!! My name is Divya and I am the Director of Finance of Letters to My Heritage. As an immigrant, I understand the challenges and struggles that come with adapting to a new environment but LTMH has enabled me to find a community where I could connect and learn from other people facing similar struggles. Through this organization I hope to continue to help and empower immigrant youth.
